Who likes DNB?

Postby disconnect » Fri Sep 30, 2005 1:36 pm

Hi freakies! There's alot of music on this website, but for some reason I get the impression that everyone likes drum n bass. Not sure how... :). So who does, who doesn't? And what kind do you like? Answer to the poll, and then specify the kind (or anything else) by replying.

Thanks!

i also like drum and bass. not as much as the guy above me. but it is still very cool.

i like the sort of techy drum and bass, stuff with insane synths going on. the kind of stuff scram makes.

I don't like drum & bass parties. But I like some drum&bass, realy not many. I think 90% is crap.
I like the more chilled atmospheric psychedelic drum&bass like blue mar ten (http://www.blumarten.com/)
I don't like the 200000 the same sounding tracks that you here on parties.
Like snare on 5 and 13. kick on 1,8,11 fast shakers all over the track. hard acid bass and one acid melody. And this the whole evening. If there was only one track like this tracks in the whole world I would defenetly like it. but there's just too many of the same tracks.

I like the pads, fx, atmospheres,... and I know that the drums are also snare on 5 and 13, ... but the rest distracts me enough from that.

I like very little of the D+B stuff i hear. I'm always willing to give something a listen, but generally i'm not into it. I like (and write) slower groovier stuff, but every now and then i'll have a little dabble with faster breakbeat-ier stuff. What i cannot tolerate at all is Trance. OMG. Trance

p.s. no offense intended to all you committed Trance producers out there

Hi Guys,

I’m impartial, however I did happen into a pirate station that was playing a sort of ambient drum & bass; that was great. Could never find the station again however.

Guess that’s life.

yeah!! there is a small pirate radio station in birmingham (near where i live) that plays drum and bass. the signal is quite strong, i can pick them up here in nuneaton. every now and then i would tune in and take a listen. the music is pretty cool, but i cant stand the brummys that host it :P

in fact, i think they have a website, lemme find it for you:
http://www.districtfm.com/

there we go :D you can even listen to the broadcast over the internet, neat.

edit: LOOOOOL!!!! it seems the radio station is now off the air... hehe. goto the site and see.

I love it ... like masita acid up there I live and breathe it. Although unlike him I am into more melodic, atmospheric quality drum and bass. Say for example ltj Bukem, or NU Tone, Calibre, High Contrast... That sort of thing..don't get me wrong though i like the harder stuff too!!

Oh and by the way>> finally went to the PCR-M50 by Edirol >> maybe now I can learn a little bit of music and then make some for myself

I wouldn't exactly call AFX drumnbass tho..

He's got a few drumnbassishque tracks but the majority of his productions is completely different IMO

I like it best when it's mixed up with something else. Mostly I couldn't care less about it.
