What would you like for future updates of Reason? Part 3

Postby willisorgannabis » Fri Mar 26, 2004 1:06 pm

Hey, this is my first thread, and it's dedicated so something I wish for every time I use Reason.

Why can't I automate most of the controls on the NNXT? That would make it the ultimate Reason tool, IMO!

Maybe there is something I'm missing. I know you can automate the controls at the top, but I want to automate EVERYTHING!

Anyone else have any suggestions, maybe someone from Propellerheads will peep this out...

Peace!

Thanks, I didn't see that. But there's a problem: both those threads are "locked"! What the...?

So here I go with some more ranting:

-MIDI OUT (like Dave said in the sticky thread)
-The ability to copy one controller's automation to another's (ie, Malstrom Index A to Index B) would make reason life MUCH easier!
-precise frequency indicators for EQing
-progressive tempo changes (I think this was mentioned in the sticky)

collaborating

Postby xenophobe51 » Thu Apr 01, 2004 3:02 pm

Okay, maybe I'd like to see a few more things after all:

I would like to see Propellerhead add more functionality for moving things between two songs (like when collaborating with someone via email and merging updates between versions of the same song). To be able to cut and paste an entire device (without creating and wiring stuff) would be nice...

Oh, and maybe another version of the Redrum and Matrix optimized for 3/4 waltz time signatures to make that process a little more intuitive...

Better multi-monitor support for PC so I don't have to stretch the friggin window across (my monitors are different sizes, so it looks all wibbly-like, and that's just pants)...

And skins, 'cause it's all about the pinstripes, baby! 8)

Aaah, sorry Willis. Didn't realise they'd been locked. I guess they were getting pretty full tho. I'll ask Dave to sticky this thread too

Nice... Thanks for the sticky!

Alot of people seem to want skins, but lets think about that... It takes time to program all this shite; wouldn't you like to see more important features updated FIRST? I personally couldn't care less if the devices were all solid brown and pink, as long as I can get my ideas out better and faster.

More shite

Postby willisorgannabis » Fri Apr 02, 2004 2:14 pm

-The ability to break out the NN-XT window into its own sizeable window (like the sequencer) would be sweet. And if your mouse pointer is over that window, you should be able to use the scroll wheel.

-a telepathic brainwave receiver that could record musical thoughts out of my head staight into the sequencer

Curves are a good thing

Postby willisorgannabis » Mon Apr 05, 2004 10:37 am

The diagonal line tool in the sequencer; it would be a good idea to have a little pull down menu to be able to choose from different non-linear curves, cuz straight lines aren't natural, and I end up spending way too much time drawing in curves.

Saving several different User Grooves would also be nice.

Right...

Had a little thinkin' time, and decided on another wish for the list. Let me know what y'all think. Here goes:

ReMaster 3-512 Multi-Band Compressonating EQ-Limiter

Imagine a 3-way multi-band compressor/limiter (Low, Mid, and Hi) running through a badass EQ on par with the Vocoder in EQ mode set to 512, all in one rack-friendly unit with some sick CV inputs on the back which you could put up top of your main ReMix unit...

Doggy fizzle!

Audio in... !

Surely they can get this on to the new version of Reason??!

I have set up a work-around that allows me to get vox into Reason fairly quickly, but surely they could make some sort of Audio-in interface device for the rack?? I have a tiny program for Mac OS9 called Coaster which captures 16/44 stereo audio files and uses very little CPU power. Surely this sort of principle could be adapted into Reason as well???!

It's a recurring theme here, I know, but now I'm really wishing it was there too.
