Recording Reason into Cubase SX 3 Again

Postby speakfreely » Sun Dec 25, 2005 9:08 am

I have tried everything that I have been told or read in the manual and I still can not get my audio to a track to record.

I have SX 3 & Reason 3.04 running on win XP. My sound card is the 0404 that comes with Proteus X by E-MU. It comes up in the Devices as E-MU ASIO.
I can hear the audio from rewire and assign it to a group but, I can not get it to an audio track to record the sound either from the line in on the sound card or internally.

HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So let me get this right..........

You have rewired cubase with reason and you can play you sample with you keyboard in cubase but you cannot get the sound to record in cubase or reason.....

Is that right..............I understand you want to use cubase as your sequencer is this right....

Take me through the steps you have done to get to this stage.

You must have done something wrong somewhere.

I have set up the rewire and everything is working fine except that I can't record the audio from reason onto a track in cubase or hear the sounds from reason when I try to audition them.

The way that I am getting my audio into Cubase from Reason is by exporting my audio loops from Reason, then importing them into Cubase.

I found out that the problem that I am having recording sound might be in my DSP card that came with Proteus X. I am working on that. Thanx in advance for your help, it is well appreciated.

well,

you don't RECORD reason into cubase
there's no way to do it

if you want the reason sounds as audio in cubase
you'll have to treat it the same as a vsti

first solo from cubase (and reason) what you want as a new audiotrack
then from within cubase: export as audio
and import again: there's your audiotrack

cheers

Pls Try This !!!!!

Open your Project on Cubase, Turn on the Reason Rewire and
Enable the Main outs.Turn on Direct Monitoring in the Device
setup in Cubase!. Also make Changes in your Vst Inputs by
selecting it to Mix Input !!
now open your reason project. Do check if both your
Project tempo are matching !!

Now try record !

Hope this will work!!!

Cheers !!
