Progressive Trance or Trance collab ?

Postby centrino » Mon Aug 27, 2007 10:29 pm

Hello,

As working together and sharing ideas is a good way to progress, is anyone interested in a Progressive Trance or Trance collab ?

By Progressive, I mean genre like Markus Schulz/Cold Harbour, but also darker styles, like Darioef, Snake Sedrick, Yvel & Tristan, Pablo Roma, Federico Epis, Bs As Deep, Deep Mariano, DJ Tarkan, V-Sag, etc...

I'm new to producing that Progressive genre, but ready to go...

If interested, send me a PM :-)

Cheers,

No I don't know him personally.
But we exchanged some emails, because I like his style :-)

I've done progressive trance, what kind of collab are we talking about?
And if you're overseas how the hell would this work?

Well in my mind, I was thinking working on a same rns file that we exchange via internet either after modifications or addition of effects, and of course exchanching opinions and ideas about what's still missing in the track, asking the other person to focus on certains parts, like the break, the intro, the bass , the drums, and discussing what synths / combis would better fit.

Or am I too optimistic and this way of working isn't doable ?

Waiting for your comments :-)

it's doable, sounds like fun, I'll work on a track with you if you like, you got my e-mail address so we can exchange rns files that way. Do you already have an idea of what you want to put down? I'm talking about an actual track, I already know you want to make stuff like schulz :)

Well yes, I would like to try some new style, like Shulz plays during his Global DJ Broadcasts : slower BPMs than in Trance, around 125-128, with a sidechained bass that goes up and down, exotic drums/beats and of course lots of effets like sweeps, nice arps with a nice atmospheric ambiance...

Just to five you one example : go on http://www.myspace.com/amonvision for the latest Hawk release, and listen to the FIRST link : the Original Mix

Or think about the DJ Shah productions. Take this one, from Black Pearl : http://downloads.dogsonacid.com/artist/123908.html

It's soft, it's nice, it's chill, all what I like and would like to produce :-)

ok dude but I was talking about - if you currently have anything that you want to work on? Something that you started, an idea for a track or something. What I'm trying to avoid is doing majority of the freakin work here and I'm talking 95% dude. I know the dynamics, the basics of mastering, eqing, track structures, effects, noise shaping, CV's, envelope modulations, and blah blah blah. I'm just trying to make sure that you're not looking for somebody to show you everything that's there to production.
Did you read my tutorials my friend? :)

ok dude, send me something and I'll take a look at it when I get back home tonight, let me know if you need bass or whatever, I'm assuming you've already done your homework and that everything is spread out throughout the stereo image properly? 8)
