Well, if the synths are as good as Reason 's ones...
For the moment, i prefer the Reason interface, which is very user friendly.
But it's sure that Reason is too "closed" : i v'e always thought that Reason would have been a more wonderfull product with a midi out and some audio things.
Now, it's too late, to my opinion.
But, we have to wait, project 5 is not there yet, wait and see...

Wow , I go on holiday and Reason's already being attacked?

Ok - here's the way I look at it. If this Project5 software is going to become a competitor to Reason [like the now squashed Orion Pro MUAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH] this would mean that the Propellerheads would start to counter each and every move that Projet 5 makes - making Reason [or maybe some NEW software] better and able to compete. Sides, the Props have their enourmous fanbase like ourselves, and user testimonials from celebrities and the like. I think it would be very interesting to see what goes on in the next few months.

I see this as a great thing - finally an attempt to quash Reason - one that will be retaliated by the great Army of REASONFREAKS!

Mobilize the Subtractors!
Fade out the NNXT!
Drive the MALSTROM!
And prepare to go to BATTLE!

No

Look at all the specs, it's not that different from Sonar, Cubase, etc.
Maybe a little bit more userfriendly, maybe.
The main difference to Sonar and Cubase seems to be the pattern based sequencers.

What's this with software, something new comes along, and everyone gets excited. No tool in the world is gonna make the best tunes for you.
I have a wrench at home, but I have no idea how to fix a car, buying a better (or different) wrench won't change this.

Learn to play your instruments, whatever they are
Make great music

Let's not forget a lot of great bands only used drums, bass, guitar, vocals (!!!), and sometimes a bit more. They couldn't load a new sampleset into their guitar, or autotune the vocal to dead.
Or have a look at early techno/acid (late 80's detroit/chicago): 1 drumcomp, 3 synths max.

Waiting for the next big thing is just a waste of time
Let's look at it in a few months, when the first users have tried it and after the first updates (patches)...

Make more music

Yeah you're right if people see something new they want it :) I'm happy with Reason and Cubase and a Master Keyboard. I never would switch from Reason to another program. I'm not a Cakewalk fan their products are not always so professional and the layout is not always what it should to be. Cubase and Reason both work with Rewire 2.0 so what do we need more :)

Yeah,

I'm totally with you guys. Reason isn't attacked by the least by this software. It's just like Cubase vs Logic. You have Cubase fans and you have Logic fans (these days only Mac users get to be a Logic fan - very dumb marketing strategy).

I will never throw Reason aside. It gives me so much options. Which maybe can be done by other programs. But why change if i have all i need. And the price for that program seems a bit high when you consider the only advantage is midi out and vst/dx support which Cubase/Reason also provide.

And think about the cult status Propellerheads have gotten them selves. Reason is hot, the rest is NOT!!!!

I wonder if a Reason Religion would make money :D

haahah you are a real freak (Reasonfreak)

And yeah i definately think that Reason has a well deserved status of being the single most coolest piece of software. Look at the looks alone. It just looks like the real deal, where others are throwing all sorts of mad colors (pink, purple, yekk).

Think of the Rebirth community a couple of years ago. Really no other piece of software has done that before.

It's time to take sides boys. Show your real colors.
