Looking to collaborate

Postby shadowfury » Thu Nov 03, 2005 7:13 am

Let me explain my situation: I am stuck in a "post-newbie" rut, both when it comes to using Reason, and composing. I am having trouble using Reason because I have acquired a fair amount of technical knowledge (there's still so much more to learn though), but I have pretty much no experience. Basically, I know how to use the individual devices, but I'm not at the point where I can put it all together.

I am also having a hard time when it comes to composing music. I can compose a tune really well, however, I can't seem to make a proper introduction or exit for my songs.

This combination has left me with a folder full of 16 or so "ideas", or very short loops using a subtractor. Sometimes I will work out of the Orkster sound bank to add a more acoustic sound to my idea. These "ideas" are not technically impressive, but are (hopefully) somewhat accomplished when it comes to the actual music.

I am looking to collaborate with someone mainly to learn (and to turn my ideas into songs!). If anyone is interested, please pm me.

I work primarily with "classical" sounding music, but I also do electronic music.

Here are four of my ideas:

Idea 1 (spooky tune, brings to mind an old town in Poland where poverty is rampant)

Idea 2

Idea 3 (pretty upbeat tune)

Idea 4 (definitely download this one. I think it is my most accomplished piece of work, except for the drums.)

Here's one more:

Idea 5

This one is my first serious attempt at hip hop. I thought it came out quite nicely. It's 20 measures at 80 bpm.

Come on people! Help out this poor soul out of his "post-newbie" phase! :o
