Hi guys,
Thought I'd kick off a new thread in the hope that I can generate a bit of renewed interest.
The problem's one of a simple outright refusal of 2 perfectly good applications abjectly refusing to talk to one another...and its doing my head in!
Please believe me when I say I've been round the forums and done the obvious. So hope maybe someone can shed some light.
The problem: Cubase AI5 does not see Reason 4 (or 3 for that matter) as an installed "device" on my Vista 32 bit laptop. Its not that it says "rewire engine not working" or anything like that...there is absolutely NO indication that cubase knows of reason's very existence...if you know what i mean.
The troubleshooting: I've reinstalled cubase (and its full on proper version that came with my yamaha CI2 usb audio device) and reinstalled reason 4 and even reason 3. no joy. I've deleted and renamed rewire.dll files before and/or after reinstalls...again no luck. here's where it gets interesting...i tried to install the same 2 applications on an xp machine (thinking, like with so many other things that its GOTTA be vista) and exact same situation: when i open cubase, first of course, and go to devices...reason or reason-rewire or anything of that nature is simply not listed.
The Next Step: next thing i'm gonna try do is see if the reason demo from the proppellheads website will work coz i'm thinking its gotta now be some fundamental malfunction with reason (note. i've tryed that vista rewire fix from the website...needless to say no joy.
So i guess its over to you guys...please PLEASE P L E A S E any input would be greatly appreciated.
